The intuitive Electronic Drilling System allows you to maximize your PDC bit and downhole motor performance by automatically maintaining constant WOB, differential pressure or ROP. Superior safety features are integral to the EDS system via the Wichita DM 236 electric brake and state of the art Crown-o-matic and Floor-o-matic protection.

The APEX Walking™ Rig’s proprietary walking system moves the rig forward, sideways or in a circle with pipe racked back providing unrivalled flexibility for well layout or location constraints. Innovations in the electronic festoon system, flowline manifolds and mud system allow the rig to walk along well layouts in excess of 150’ without the need to move any primary equipment beside the rig itself.

The APEX Walking™ Rig features one of NOV’s most popular and dependable SCR drive systems, the Ross Hill 1400. Like everything on the APEX Walking Rig the Ross Hill 1400 SCR drive system focuses on simplistic operation, reliability, superior performance, and ease of maintenance.

The Wrangler 3500 Hydraulic Catwalk’s safety and efficiency is unmatched in the field. The catwalk eliminates the need for the manual handling of tubulars. Its remote controlled functionality allows operation from the rig floor removing personnel from the danger area while picking up and laying down pipe. The catwalk is always rigged up and ready, eliminating the costs and potential delays of calling out laydown crews.

The NOV TDS – 11 is an 800 HP AC top drive developed for use as a portable unit. Its compact size allows for easy installation and transportation. Its unrivalled continuous and breakout torque ratings allow for efficient drilling and reaming operations even in larger hole diameters or extended reach applications.

The new ST-80C Iron Roughneck on the APEX Walking™ Rig is the industry leading iron roughneck in Safety, durability and ruggedness, and performance. Its compact size is specifically designed to optimize floor space and still provide the same fast, safe and reliable tubular make up and break out functions of the original ST-80.

The mud tanks have a 1,000 barrel working capacity and a separate 50 barrel premix tank. Brandt King Cobra linear motion shale shakers and 24/3 mud cleaners ensure the recirculation of drill solids won’t be a detriment to your mud properties and drill bit performance.
