The Apex-1000 AC drilling rig is designed to achieve extraordinary gains in drilling efficiencies and rapid deployment, through state of the art drilling technology and safe, simple assembly.
The Apex-1000 drawworks is a DSGD-375 (Dual Speed Gear Driven) AC drawworks powered by a Baylor AC Cage Induction Motor and has a hoisting capacity of 375 Ton. The Dual Speed Gear Driven drawworks is significantly faster with lower hook loads than a standard single speed. The drawworks is positioned on the floor directly off the truck using the hydraulic cylinders of the substructure. There are no cranes needed to rig up or down.
The 136' 250 Ton three piece mast is designed specifically for tight locations and restricted road ways. The mast transports in three small manageable loads the TDS-11 500 ton top drive and traveling block remain in the mast during transit as well saving valuable rig up and down time. The traveling block also remains strung saving valuable rig up time and expense on string up crews. The telescopic mast is not extended to its full length until it is raised allowing for smaller locations.
The substructure has a floor height of 22' and is designed so that it can be used for either pad drilling or a conventional drill site. It can be upgraded to an advanced walking.
The Wrangler 3500 Hydraulic Catwalk is one of the key components to the success of the APEX 1000 Rig. Its safety and efficiency is unmatched in the field. The catwalk eliminates the need for personnel to manually handle tubulars by rolling and pulling up pipe. Its remote control design allows it to be operated from the rig floor assuring no personnel are in the danger area in pulling up and laying down pipe. The catwalk also eliminates the need for a laydown and pickup machine saving valuable time, and operator expense.
