Every employee of Patterson-UTI Drilling Company LLC is responsible for their own safe actions, safe environment and monitoring the safety of their fellow employees.
Every employee of Patterson-UTI Drilling Company LLC has the authority to prevent another person, whether it's a co-worker or an employee from another company, from committing an unsafe act. We have processes, which enable our employees to assist another fellow human being from injuring themselves through behavior based safety observation programs, Safety Management Teams and the Job Risk Assessment process.
Accountability begins with our management from the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and extends to each and every employee.

This commitment begins with Patterson-UTI Drilling Company's upper management and permeates through our organization. This goal is accomplished through progressive educational, health and safety programs designed to equip each employee with the knowledge essentials to maintain such an environment, and dedication to processes supported by a no tolerance attitude. We believe the quality of a drilling contractor is directly related to the quality of its people and management's ability to care for the company's most valuable asset, its people. It is recognized that a workplace free of potential hazards and a workforce mindful of health and safety essentials are not only indispensable to the Company, but are also in the best interest of each and every individual concerned. This Safety Philosophy has led to the establishment of a Safety Program that rewards our people for their successes and holds our management accountable for our failures.
